Kocurek : The Factory and Resources
The No.1 supplier of bespoke front end equipment for hydraulic excavators

As leaders in our field Kocurek have established one of the most comprehensively equipped factories dedicated to this kind of work. All manufacture is undertaken in house from simple welding to very complex machining production of hydraulic cylinders wiring and hydraulic work.

All our customers enjoy a visit to the factory where we are able to demonstrate our commitment and technical resources in all areas.

Factory

Kocurek Excavators is a family owned private company founded in 1979 by Mrs. Rita Kocurek and her son David. Relocating to the Hadleigh Road Industrial Estate in 1994, has allowed continual expansion of the factory.

Purchasing

Housing all principle administration functions for the smooth running of the factory and resources.

Drawing Office

All engineering functions and 3-D Cad drawings to the highest specification with the latest technology available.

Drawing Office Faro 01

3D laser scanner with 2m reach (for reverse engineering and data input into CAD system)

Drawing Office CAD

Using our modern 3D modelling CAD system the company can rapidly produce animated working designs.

CNC / Machine Shop

The CNC machining room consists of five up to date Haas machines, two horizontal and three vertical milling machines responsible for producing all in-house parts.

We also have manual turning and grinding machines for large bore cylinders and pins.

Plasma Profile Cutter

With a direct feed from the CAD system, the profile machine accurately reproduces templates ready for fabrication.

Wadkin

This machine tackles the bevelling and edge preparation on plate work for the welding process.

Plating

The basic plates are assembled on a simple beam jig. Here the skill of the plater is used to achieve an accurate set up to final welding in the finishing bays.

A shouldered bush is used to create a much stronger bush set up, to enable better penetration by the welders before machining

Twinhead

This unique twin head boring machine allows large fabrications to be machined simultaneously providing accurate boring and drilling essential in the production of high reach demolition equipment.

Piping

All our steel piping is carried out using 4mm thick wall nominal bore tube to which our purpose designed end fitting incorporating a conventional BSP cone and thread is secured. This is done using two passes of TIG welding thereby allowing a smooth interchange of oil between the hose and the pipe. The Achilles Heel for all manufacturers has been in the fitting to pipe interchange area due to cracking developing in later years. The Kocurek design has eliminated this problem.

Shotblast

This allows us to prepare all our fabrications, without exception, with a first class surface preparation for a log lasting paint finish.

Paint

This facility employs the latest technology and environment practices using the airless method.

Machine Assembly

With the latest addition to our expansion the assembly shop can now construct eight excavators undercover at any one time.

Electrical Assembly

All our electrical installations are prepared in-house

Hydraulic assembly

All hose assemblies are all built to specification in-house to suit the application. Cylinder Assembly

All hydraulic rams are made in a controlled environment and tested.

Test Yard

All products are tested in our well equipped yard.

Customer Support

All enquiries and problems are resolved with the minimum of disruption to the customer.

Stores

Our extensive two storey store incorporates all in-house manufactured and bought in components.

Workforce

These are just some of the employees of our ever expanding company
