Kiesel GmbH

This customer is the Hitachi Dealer for Germany who has and continues to build an enviable record in supplying excavators into their domestic market. Not wishing to rest on their laurels they have taken a conscious decision to give their customer base a one-stop total solution for all their bespoke needs. For a number of years this company has sold, very successfully their version of the modular joint (Oil-Quick) onto machines up to 45 tons base weight but they now wish to offer this version onto the ZX670/870 and EX1200 machines. Kocurek have been chosen as the manufacture of these units because we are the only ones capable of offering them a telescopic boom and we have been entrusted with the first order on a Hitachi ZX670 which has been sold to end user in Southern Germany and will give the following duties:

34m working pin height operating a 3000 kgs attachment or a 4000 kgs attachment with the telescopic boom fully retracted.

Standard equipment will incorporate a special boom foot extension giving a Triple Articulated Boom (TAB) arrangement to give (in the straight boom position) a working pin height of approximately 17m.

With the boom in the conventional position a digging depth (to the pin) of approximately 8m will be achieved. This arrangement will also allow the use of a heavy steel shear for extreme conditions.

We also have Kiesel’s second machine in our factory which is presently undergoing modifications as the first machine, to up-rate the boom hoist cylinders, lengthen and hydraulically extend the undercarriage and convert to hydraulically removable counterweight. A final decision has to be made on supply of heavy duty rig or the more popular telescopic boom.

First Kocurek machine into India - Advanced Construction Technologies (P) Ltd

Late 2008 also saw us make our debut into the previously untapped Asian market with the sale of a new Volvo EC460BLC complete with 26m high reach demolition equipment incorporating our modular joint and all base machine demolition features. This company is based in Chennai, India and the Managing Director Mohan Ramanathan took great pleasure in introducing the 1st 3-piece high reach demolition equipment into India. The machine was commissioned over Christmas 2008 and went to work on its first job carrying out a prestigious job to demolish part of Mumbai International Airport and was sub-contracted from M/s Larsen & Toubro Ltd. ACT has been a pioneer in India for a number of years having introduced many demolition technologies for the first time into its marketplace including Diamond cutting, Implosion, Silent demolition and now of course High reach machines. India, by its own admission, is 20 years behind the UK and Europe in demolition techniques but with people of Mohan Ramanathan’s calibre who has a strong desire and proven track record to broach new technologies watch this space.
