Avesco
This customer is the Cat dealer in Switzerland who was introduced to the wonderful world of Kocurek last year when they had a requirement from one of their customers who wanted total versatility i.e. They will be supplying their end user customer (Lötscher) with a Cat 365C (incorporating Cat 385 undercarriage) with standard backactor equipment incorporating the the Cat “Retrofit” boom. Kocurek’s remit was to supply the demolition equipment with the following criteria:
- High Reach Demolition Equipment to handle large attachments.
- The same equipment must also be capable of digging
- Must be easy to transport.
This equipment is about to leave Ipswich (June 2009) for fitting to the base machine in Avesco’s yard in Switzerland and final testing before being handed over to the end user customer. Avesco will also modify the standard counterweight size and position for stability As this order progressed from concept to actual we have “fine tuned” our design and our final supply will include the following:
- 4-piece equipment with a working pin height of 30m operating a 5000 kgs attachment fitting directly onto the Cat Joint.
- 5-piece equipment with a working pin height of 37m operating a 2800 kgs attachment fitting directly onto the Cat Joint.
- Digging envelope of 29m outreach at ground level and 19m digging depth.
- Transport height of the equipment is 3600mm
A critical plank of our design was to come up with a solution for folding the demolition equipment down for transport but then being able to fold out the equipment to get it into a useful working position. With this wide range of operation the operating cylinders need to be either very long or very short and their positioning for optimum effectiveness is equally critical. The Kocurek solution was to come up with a cam/rotating cylinder anchor bracket design that answers both requirements to get the equipment from transport position to maximum working position. We would suggest that there are very few companies out there that could respond to a customer demand such as above either because they would not have the inclination or the expertise or a combination of both. Another indication of Kocurek’s ability to respond to customers bespoke requirements.
