Training
Apprentices
At Kocurek Excavators, we are very keen to give young individuals and all our staff the opportunities and support needed to succeed. We take training and apprenticeships very seriously. To this end, we have recently recruited four Engineering Apprentices on a two-year scheme.
From Left to right in the photograph:
1. Stuart Power.
2. Patrick Williment.
3. Alex Sutton.
4. Martin Parker.
All are studying “Performing Engineering Operations” at West Suffolk College Bury St Edmunds. A rotation programme has been put together for the Apprentices, to enhance their overall understanding of Engineering Operations to mirror their first year at college. The second year will consist of a similar programme depending on which option they choose this will depend on the path they wish to take being either Fabrication & Welding Engineering or Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering. Health and Safety plays a strong part in their education.
Stuart Power
Stuart is 19 from Ipswich and attended Northgate High School. He is an Ipswich Town supporter. Prior to joining Kocurek, Stuart was involved with the Princes trust. This was a Team Building and personal development course that had him doing work with the community as well as various outdoors activities. Stuart also enjoys the hands on approach to work as opposed to an office Job and has enjoyed the rotation so far with working at our Bucklesham site.
Patrick Williment
Patrick is 19 lives in Claydon and attended Coppelston School. Patrick has a love for cars “German ones especially” and loves the mechanical aspect behind cars. Patrick is enjoying the hands on approach that the apprenticeship gives him here at Kocurek and every day is impressed with what he is learning and the sheer size and weight of the machinery he is helping to manufacture.
Alex Sutton
Alex is 19 lives in Ipswich. He attended Westbourne School. He is a keen footballer playing 5 times week and enjoys going to the cinema. Alex has a keen interest to “follow in his father’s footsteps” with welding as his career path. He is enjoying the on the Job training an apprenticeship gives him.
Martin Parker
Martin is 20 from Ipswich and he attended Theilston and Northgate School. He enjoys playing football and socialising. During his previous employment he worked for a building consultancy in an office doing cad designs. He is really enjoying being here on the opposite side getting his hands dirty!
